Dr. Ted Phillips |
Dr. Phillips is a local boy, having grown up in
Allentown. But that didn't stop him from attending Columbia
University for college and Harvard Medical
School, one of the finest medical schools in the country!
Dr. Phillips performed his General
Surgery training at the Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City
and then completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at the Sanger
Clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to being a talented surgeon, Dr. Phillips
has a heart of gold, beloved by his patients and the staff. Dr.
Phillips and I have been in practice together the longest at Lehigh Valley
Hospital. Simply put, Ted is one of the most trusted team-players I have ever
known.

Dr. Gary Szydlowski
Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital and
Health Network |
Dr. Szydlowski comes to us from Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was
Co-Director of Cardiopulmonary Transplantation.
Dr. Szydlowski was appointed Chief of
the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital shortly after
his arrival. The reason is simple: He is a superior surgeon and born leader.
Dr. Szydlowski received his Bachelor of Science degree at
Drexel University where he majored in Electrical Engineering. After
completing medical school at Hahnemann University, Dr. Szydlowski went on to
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia for both his General
Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery training.
Dr. Szydlowski and I went through residency and fellowship together at
Jefferson. We immediately became the best of friends. After starting
our careers at different ends of the state, it has been a dream come true to be
spending the rest of my career with the single finest surgeon and most trusted
colleague I have ever known. |

Dr. James Wu
|
Dr. Wu grew up in Queens, New York. He attended
the University of Chicago where he majored in Chemistry. Dr. Wu then
obtained his MD at the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Wu did his general surgery
training at Stony Brook in New York and completed a cardiothoracic surgery
fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
During 2000-2001, Dr. Wu was the Chief Resident and
Clinical Associate in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at The Cleveland
Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

his Bachelor of Arts and his MD at the Washington University School of
Medicine.
He performed his
general surgical training at the University of North Carolina School of
Medicine and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Allegheny
