Physician Assistant
Team
|
The Physician Assistants play a crucial role
on our team. They are involved in every part of the care of our
patients. Their careers include performing thorough history and
physical examinations, consultations, preparing patients for the operating
room, assisting in the operating room, and helping to manage the patients
during their recovery as well performing beside procedures.
As a team, we're blessed to have some of the finest Physician Assistants in the
field of cardiovascular surgery! |
|

Peter Tucker, PA-C
Pete received both his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at King's College in Wilkes-Barre,
Pennsylvania.
Pete is one of the most experienced cardiovascular
physician assistants in the country.
Pete actually started his career as a student on our
service, just like Kevan Haas and Andrew Mayette.
In addition to being talented, Pete is well-admired, especially the nurses! But,
don't get your hopes up. Pete has a beautiful wife and a lovely
family.

David Cederberg, PA-C
David received his Bachelor of Science and his Master of
Science in Physician Assistant Studies at DeSales University in Allentown,
Pennsylvania.
David is also one of the most experienced cardiovascular
physician assistants in the country. He started his career as a surgical technologist
for many years at Lehigh
Valley Hospital and went on to gain his Master's degree as a physician Assistant.
One of the most beloved professionals, David always
knows how to make people smile and laugh --especially me.
Most of all, he is a caring, thoughtful, and talented
person we all depend on greatly.

 David
Fontaine, PA-C David joined our team in 2006. We were
fortunate get David to leave a heart program in Philadelphia. David
completed his Bachelor of Science at Elizabeth Town College, in Lancaster
County, Pennsylvania. David completed his Master of Science in Physician
Assistant Studies at Arcadia University, in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. David is a
pleasure to have on our team, admired by all. David spends a lot of
his time on our Muhlenberg Campus with Dr. Mehta. Wherever he is, and
no matter how hard the day, David is always nice --truly one of the most
pleasant people you'll ever meet.

 Kevan
Haas, PA-C
Kevan joined our team in 2005 and has been another great addition to the
team.
Kevan completed his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Science in
Physician Assistant Studies
at DeSales University in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Kevan is our PA Team Leader who organizes the complex schedules for our PA's
and nurse practitioners. This is not an easy job, but one which Kevan
excels at greatly.
Kevan is well-respected by his fellow PA's and has done a terrific job as
their chief.
Like all the other PA's, Kevan is a pleasure to work with and admired by
all.

Phillip Dolcemascolo, PA-C Phil received his Bachelor of
Science at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
Phil received his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Rutgers/UMDNJ.
Prior to joining us at LVHN, Phil worked at Tufts-New England Medical Center in
Boston, the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey and at an
affiliate of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System.
Phil is a terrific physician assistant and a wonderful guy. He is a bit
confused about sports teams, seeing as he's a diehard Yankees and Giants fan.
Oh well, nobody's perfect!
Even if he's wrong on sports, he's right on as a talented assistant and as a
team player. And,
he has the nicest handwriting of any of the PA's and surgeons!

Kevin McGill, PA-C Kevin joined our team in 2009.
He received his Bachelor of Science at the Ohio University. Kevin
completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). Prior to
joining our group, Kevin was a physician assistant in cardiac surgery at the
New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Kevin joined our team at
a time when we were short-staffed and extremely busy. He's done a
terrific job and we're fortunate to have Kevin on our team. Kevin is one
of the most hard-working, dedicated young PA's to come along. He
learned all of the needed skills very quickly and has been a great addition.
Like all the others, Kevin is a terrific, caring person with a great
sense of humor. |
 Nicholas Rini, PA-C
Nick joined our team in 2009. He received his Bachelor of Science
at East Stroudsburg University.
Nick completed his Physician Assistant Education at St. John's University
and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the A.T. Stills
University.
Prior to joining our group, Nick worked for two years on the neurosurgery
service. We're very lucky that Nick has chosen to join our team.
He is an absolute gem of a guy, always pleasant and kind. He's admired
by all.
One issue with Nick is that he's about 2 feet taller than me! Even
with my standing on a step stool in the operating room, Nick is always
bending down to assist me. I have to always remind myself to raise the
O.R. table up to ease his back pain --those he never complains.
|

Travis Gaskill, PA-C
Travis joined our team in 2009. Travis obtained his Bachelor of
Science and his Physician Assistant Education at the University of
Washington.
Travis comes to us with a lot of experience, including serving as a
Combat Medic for the US Army.
And, he has a neat hobby... he makes his own beer and wine, not to
mention being quite a skilled chef.
Travis is a very good guy --like a big old lovable teddy bear. Like
a few guys on our team, Travis is quite tall. We hired Nick and Travis
at the same time and I'm beginning to think we could take on any other
division at the hospital in touch football!
Travis is a hard-working and caring person who is excited to gain
experience as a cardiovascular physician assistant.
